As a point sensor of the spectral confocal sensor, it can measure the height (z coordinate) of the point located on the optical axis and the thickness of transparent samples.

It includes a controller, an optical pen, and an optical fiber cable. The optical pens can be interchanged on the same controller.
It has distance and thickness modes, with high accuracy and high resolution.

It is compatible with all specific series of optical pens.

It can be equipped with multiple optical pens and has a wide measurement range (such as 100 µm - 20 µm).

It has a variety of advanced functions, such as automatic LED, first peak, dual-frequency, storing the last value, time averaging, etc.

The synchronization methods include master or slave.

It has USB and RS232/RS422 digital outputs, and some models also have Ethernet output.

It has 2 analog outputs of 0V - 10V.

It can be synchronized with 3 external digital encoders.

The spectral confocal sensor is based on the principle of spectral confocal imaging / color spectral confocal imaging. Its optical system generates the image of a point light source on the surface of an object. The backscattered light is collected by the same optical system and imaged at the pinhole. The pinhole filters the light, and only the light of a specific wavelength can be focused on the pinhole to reach the sensitive area of the spectrometer. The spectrometer interprets the sample position by identifying this wavelength. When the object is displaced within the measurement range, the spectral peak on the spectrometer will change accordingly.

This type of high-resolution non-contact sensor is widely used in high-precision measurement occasions with various requirements, such as glass, medical, electronics, semiconductors, automobiles, aerospace, watchmaking, etc. It can easily measure objects of any material and has no special requirements for the color and finish of the surface of the measured object. Measurements can be performed on matte reflection, high-gloss surfaces, and even mirror surfaces.
